Turning data into stories people remember
Apostrophe One is a data design studio founded by Valentina D’Efilippo, an award-winning designer who has written two infographic books and spoken at TEDx and the Royal Institution. The studio helps brands and institutions turn complex data into visual stories, and Valentina teaches the same skills through public masterclasses and training for teams.

Two businesses in one studio
The site had to sell two different things to two different people. Organisations come for consulting, from editorial infographics to interactive installations. Individuals and teams come to learn. Then there are the books and the talks. Each needed a clear way in, without the studio feeling split in half. For a studio whose whole job is making complex things clear, a confusing website would have been an awkward look.

Splitting the paths early
I designed and built the site in Framer. The homepage separates Academy and Consulting from the first screen, so visitors choose their path before they have to read much. Each side then gets its own page with services, process and FAQ, written for the person who’s actually reading it.
The case studies run on the CMS, and the free resources and newsletter sign-ups connect to the tools the studio already uses to stay in touch with its audience.

What they have now
A site where a team lead looking for training and a museum planning an exhibition both find their way in a couple of clicks.
